Unlimited Fractals

Explore the Mandelbrot set at extraordinary depth.

Mac iPhone iPad

Dive into the Mandelbrot set with precision that grows as you zoom, preserving fine structure far beyond ordinary floating-point depth.

Deep zoom, in and out

• Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag to pan, and hold anywhere to dive — steer as you fall by moving while you hold.
• The view center and zoom retain as many digits as the current depth needs, keeping fine structures sharp instead of dissolving into blocks.
• GPU rendering and perturbation theory keep navigation responsive at extreme depths.
• Zoom back out from any saved location without losing its coordinates.

Fractals across several families

• Escape-time — the Mandelbrot and Julia sets, plus the Burning Ship, Tricorn, Buffalo, Celtic, Phoenix, Newton, Nova, Magnet, and Multibrot.
• Iterated function systems & L-systems — the Barnsley fern, Koch snowflake, Sierpinski triangle, Pythagoras tree, dragon curves, Hilbert and Gosper space-filling curves, and Penrose tiling.
• Strange attractors — Lorenz, Rössler, Aizawa, Thomas, Chua, Clifford, de Jong, Pickover, and the full run of Sprott systems.
• 3D fractals — the Mandelbulb, Mandelbox, Menger sponge, Kleinian, quaternion Julia, and more, ray-marched and free to orbit.

Make it yours

• Open any Julia set — ⌘-click a point on the Mandelbrot set and its Julia set opens instantly; step back just as easily.
• A coloring studio — smooth gradients, crisp distance shading, embossed 3D lighting, stripe and triangle-inequality averaging, and binary decomposition, over palettes you can shift, densify, and randomize.
• Tune the detail — raise the iteration count to pull structure out of the deep, color the interior, and switch on 2× or 3× anti-aliasing for the final frame.
• Save your spot — bookmark a location by its exact coordinates, paste one in to jump straight there, and share it as plain text.
• Export a poster — save the current view as a full-resolution image.
