Unlimited Quotes
Cited quotations, and who said them — all of it on the device.
Coming soon to the App Store for Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Open it and there is one quotation, set as large as the screen will allow. The rest of the library is behind it: subjects, people, and every word, searchable with the network off.
An extensive library of quotations
- A hundred thousand quotations — more than ten thousand people, a thousand subjects, from antiquity to this decade.
- The source sits under the quote — the letter, the book and chapter, the speech, the act and scene, when one exists.
- Dates are never guessed — if a year falls outside the speaker’s life, it isn’t shown.
A quotation for today
- One quotation, as large as the screen — the way a book would set it.
- Today stays a reading page — Today and Another draw from a smaller, cited set, so the first screen is something you would actually want to read. Nothing is deleted; browse and search still see all of it.
Made for reading
- The words carry it — a serif at the largest size that fits, and five palettes to read it in.
- Save it, or send it — the bookmark keeps it. Share any quotation as formatted text, citation already in place.
Who said it, and how you know
- Tap the name — a paragraph on who they were, their dates, and what they were known for. That paragraph is in the app.
- The only network tap — the link to the full encyclopedia entry. Nothing else opens a connection.
- Nobody is just a name — every speaker has dates, what they were known for, and a paragraph.
Browse it, or search every word
- Browse by subject — Love, Courage, Solitude, Science, Power, Grief — each filed by an editor who read the quotation, not by a machine that counted the word.
- Every person, A–Z — a rail down the edge, each row with what they were known for, their dates, and how many quotations the app holds.
- Proverbs sit with the subjects — a proverb has a tradition rather than an author.
- Search every word — the whole library, no waiting, updating on every keystroke. Every word you type must appear, so two words genuinely narrow it.
